2017 has been a great year for the Network75 scheme!
Network75 has had plenty to celebrate during 2017 – our most notable achievement being 111 current students enrolled on the scheme for the 2017/18 academic year!
Throughout the year we have undertaken school and colleges visits, attended open days, and numerous events to spread the Network75 Scheme far and wide. The scheme was presented to over 7000 students from year 11 to year 13 – the Network75 students of the future!
We received applications for our first Science based degree course; BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Science. This now brings our offering across all schools within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering, and Science as well as two out of three schools within the Faculty of Business and Society. We’ll be adding another Science course to our offering for 2018; BSc (Hons) Chemistry, bringing the total number of undergraduate degrees the scheme offers to 16.
The July Graduation Ceremonies signalled a proud week for the Network75 team, 16 of our students, their families, friends, and host companies. The Class of 2017 are our biggest graduation cohort to date and we were immensely proud to see these talented young people rewarded for 5 years of hard work. Not only did they graduate with an honours degree, 5 years of industry work experience, and no student debt; 87% graduated with a 2.1 or above with 5 achieving 1st Class Honours. They also maintained Network75s 100% employability record by securing graduate level employment; the majority with their host companies.
Nathan Walbeoff is one such student; when asked about the scheme Nathan said "Without the Network75 scheme I would not have been successful in gaining employment as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor with Kier Services Ltd in Bristol".

September saw the scheme celebrating its 17th Birthday and welcoming our 2017 cohort, which included no less than 40 new students – our largest cohort to date. The scheme also welcomed 17 new companies including:
Lee Wakemans Ltd have recently published a Press Release announcing their 5 year commitment to the Network75 scheme and welcoming their new student Andrew to the business. Mike Hughes, Director said, "Andrew has only been with us for a few weeks, but he has already made a positive impact on the company. The combined work and study route is something we really believe in, and has allowed us to bring a high quality undergraduate like Andrew into our workplace. Andrew will be able to develop practical skills working with us alongside his academic studies."

With the 2017 cohort this brings the grand total of current Network75 students to 111 and current Host Companies to 59. The 100 current students’ milestone is one that the team have been eager to reach in recent years and they were overjoyed to have surpassed this target this year.
